Labor Day Weekend

There are only a few more weeks of summer, and all of the staff at the R-Ranch would like to thank all of the Pardner's for making this a great season! Everyone had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We still have some events planned so be sure to join in on the fun for Labor Day Weekend. We will be kicking off the weekend with the Stables End of the Year Play Day, Awards, and BBQ. This is a great event and will be sure draw quite a crowd. So pony up and head up to the Stables for the last of the season's equine events. Don't forget to catch the BOD meeting at 10:00 am at the Klamath Lodge, and then spend the afternoon relaxing in any one of the many ways that offered here at R-Ranch. Grab your Pardners, and boot scoot and boogie on over to the Labor Day Dance. Show your R-Ranch spirit and step out in style! On Saturday we will be hosting the Hawaiian Luau! This is a great family event held at the Cottonwood Dining Room and Pool. Get festive and sail away with us to a tropical destination! Aloha!

A Parder's Praise

This is a lovely comment from a wonderful owner. I thought that I would share it with y'all! Enjoy, I did!

" The overnight ride was one of out first experiences here at the Ranch. In fact, we made a special trip here to come to this event. My sister had asked me to bring her on the ride for her birthday present. I want to thank everyone for a wonderful time. It was a really good opportunity to get to know so many wonderful people. From the Wranglers who made sure everyone got there and back safely, to the exquisite meal prepared for us, everything was delightful. There were games for everyone to play, including horseshoes, hand churned ice cream, and three pinatas (if you can believe that!). There was a coloring contest and Dutch Oven Cobbler, hula hoop contests and fruit kabobs with delicious dip. We finished the evening with a wonderful meal and Cowboy Poetry! Really, If you didn't make it then make sure that you get to go on the next one. My heartfelt thanks to all of the many hands that put such love and care into making it so much fun! "

Facebook~

Do you like what you are seeing here? Please friend us on our Facebook page where you will be able to network with friends and see pictures from your summer. You can find us at R-Ranch, Hornbrook. This is the official R-Ranch Facebook Page.

R-River

It's another great day here on the Ranch. There are still a few more weeks of summer left, so be sure to make it up to your favorite home away from home. Have you spent the day tubing or rafting down the Klamath yet? If not, I highly recommend it. It is a beautiful and peaceful float from the fish hatchery where there is an easy access boat launch to the R-Ranch Klamath Campground. There is an air compressor at the Klamath Maintenance Building which makes for easy inflation of all of your water toys. So pack a picnic lunch and plan to be resting on the green banks of the river, enjoying the scenery. Don't forget to bring your fishing pole and drop a line. The Klamath boasts many abundant fishing holes. So come on in, the water is fine!!! The Ranch will also be hosting a Rafting trip and Hot dog feed every other Saturday. We would love to have lunch ready for you when you pull up at the Klamath Boat Ramp! See you there!

It's about time!

Howdy R-Ranchers! This is your Activities Director, Jessah. I apologize for a lack of posting during the busy 4th of July Holiday. What a whirlwind! The Pardners and their guests were keeping all of the staff very busy making sure that everyone had a safe and memorable time here on the Ranch. Things have quieted down a little and we are all getting back into the swing of things. I will be posting activities on the website, around the Ranch, and also on the official R-Ranch facebook page as well. There is still alot of summer left so be sure to make a trip up to Hornbrook and see how your Ranch is doing in 2012. We look forward to seeing you all having a great time!

Summer Time!

Summer is finally here! The longer days and warmer evenings are welcoming new and returning owners and guests to R-Ranch. The cool breezes make the weather pleasurable, and the recent rains were very much appreciated by the rolling green landscape! The horses have begun their industrious summer work of three trail rides a day. They can be found relaxing in the afternoons, grazing in the pasture, and playing in the ponds. The area hot dog feeds and potlucks have resumed for the season and Pardners have been gathering together in the shade of beautiful trees to enjoy good food and great friends! School children spent the day on the Ranch for their end of school year party where they enjoyed horseback riding and swimming in the Cottonwood Pool. Families are fishing in the Headquarters pond and enjoying picnic lunches in the Memorial Gazebo. It is a lovely thing to see children laughing and playing, meeting new friends and enjoying the great outdoors. There are many activities planned for this summer so be sure to check the website and the activities boards that are posted in each area. See you around the Ranch Pardner!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Old Glory
Memorial Day Weekend was a great way to kick-off our 2012 Summer Season! If you weren't able to join us last weekend, we look forward to seeing you real soon! The weather started off a little cool, but everyone was happy by Sunday when the sun came out and the kids could jump in the pool!

The Friday Night potluck over at Cottonwood was good family fun, and good food too! There was a delicious community meal of fresh homemade tortillas, all the fixins', and garden salad. I had the pleasure of meeting many of the families that will spend a good part of their summer here, and got to know some of the kids who would join me on Saturday night for the Parents Night Out.

Saturday morning rolled around early with the Opening Ceremonies of the Gymkhana. Thank you to our Flag Bearers who gave a whole new meaning to the term "Flying Colors".  Everyone was out and about and showing their R-Ranch Spirit. It looks like everyone has been practicing this winter, and getting faster all the time.

Horseman's Association
Thank you to the Horseman's Association who came out and had a successfully delicious barbecue lunch. R-Ranch Clubs are a great asset to the Ranch and we greatly appreciate all that they do for us. Please come out and support R-Ranch Activities and Clubs! They will be providing lots of wonderful memories for us this summer.

The Parent's Night Out was a great success! There were 19 children, from the ages of 3 to 18! What a Wild party! These kids really know how to have a good time! There was popcorn, punch and gooey brownies, new friends were made, a ping pong tournament, touch football, and even a Freeze Dance Contest! The kids were great and it was fun to see them getting to know each other. The Klamath Dance was a swinging success, and everyone kicked up their heels to the sounds of Denim and Diamonds! Thank you to all who came out to the Dance and showed your
R-Ranch Spirit!

R-Kids!

Our First Annual Fishing Tournament got lots of people out of their bunks and down to the ponds for a peaceful morning of fishing. A festive booth was setup for weigh in, and Tyler and Trevor were ecstatic to receive a brand new fishing rod and tackle box, complete with tackle, for the biggest fish of the day! Thanks for breaking reels and tipping boats in the name of the biggest fish boys! We appreciate you! The sun came out just in time for the first Ice Cream Social of the year, and the Cottonwood Snackbar was packed with hungry swimmers and sunbathers! The pool was full of smiling children who participated in the Pool Games. The noodle race was hilarious and the soaked shirt relay got the kids cheering for their teammates! The kids wanted to keep playing, and prizes were won by all who participated.

Our Winners!
What a relaxing and fun way to end the weekend! Thank you to all who made this weekend a big success and we are gearing up for more fun activities to come. All of here at Headquarters would like to express our deep gratitude for all of those who have sacrificed for our Country and made it possible to enjoy or Freedom. Thank you.
